Last updated: May 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Velours (“Velours”, “we”, “us”), the operator of an invitation-only members’ club in the Emirate of Dubai, collects and uses personal information about members, applicants, and guests.
1. Information we collect
- Identity and contact details: your name, phone number, WhatsApp number, Instagram handle, and email address.
- Application information: how you heard about us and the details you submit when requesting access.
- Payment metadata: records of transactions processed through our payment provider, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
- Attendance records: event reservations, check-ins, and the scan records created when your membership is verified at the door.
2. Why we use it and our legal basis
We use your information to operate your membership, process payments, manage event access and security, communicate with you, and keep the club safe. Depending on the activity, we rely on the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running a private club securely, your consent (which you may withdraw), and compliance with legal obligations.
3. Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers who help us run Velours, under appropriate agreements:
- Supabase — hosting, database, and authentication.
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Resend — transactional email delivery.
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our members and staff.
4. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as you are a member and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting, and security obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
5. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including access controls and encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident.
6. Your rights
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to limit how we use it. To make a request, contact us at the address below.
7. Members in the EU and UK
If you are located in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR, including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, data portability, and objection to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email legal@veloursdubai.com and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.
